Moving Towards Electronic Business Transactions in U.S. Healthcare

Tuesday, March 17, 2015
2 - 3 p.m. EDT

Register now - participation is limited.

CAQH will release its 2014 CAQH Index and provide an overview of key findings in this special briefing for healthcare stakeholders.

Learn about progress made, gaps remaining and savings potential of the move from billions of manual healthcare claims- and benefits-related transactions to electronic transmission.

The 2014 CAQH Index examines adoption of standardized (HIPAA) electronic transactions, inducing some of the most common business interactions between health plans and healthcare providers: claim submission, eligibility and benefit verification, prior authorization, claim status inquiries, claim payment, and remittance advice.

The briefing will address:
  • How much can U.S. healthcare save by completing the switch?
  • How much of the savings belongs to providers and health plans?
  • What are the biggest opportunities to reduce costs?
  • Which electronic transactions show the most progress?
  • How can individual health plans and provider practices determine their own potential savings?
  • How can health plans and healthcare providers participate in the 2015 Index?
Speakers include:
  • Jeff Lemieux, Director, Research, CAQH
  • Gwendolyn Lohse, Deputy Director, CAQH and Managing Director, Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange (CORE)
  • Andrew Naugle, MBA, Principal and Healthcare Management Consultant, Milliman, Inc.

A CAQH CORE SPECIAL EVENT
CORE's HEALTH CARE THOUGHT LEADER SERIES

TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2015

2:00 - 3:00 PM EST

There is no fee to attend.

ONE-ON-ONE WITH ROBERT S. TAGALICOD,
Acting Director, Domain Governance Office (DGO), and Acting Chief Enterprise Architect, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

This is the first in a year-long series of national webinars sponsored by CAQH CORE that will feature health care thought leaders and other innovators.

Join us for this inaugural CORE thought leader session with Rob Tagalicod. As former director of CMS' Office of E-health Standards and Services, Rob is now at HHS as the Acting Director of DGO in the Office of the Secretary, while also serving as its Acting Chief Enterprise Architect.

Learn about the HHS efforts in enterprise IT governance and how the recently passed legislation will impact IT-related investments at HHS. Why is this important?

According to Gartner, the Enterprise Project Management Office is a rapidly emerging concept. It forecasted that by the end of 2015, 30% of all Fortune 1000 companies will adopt some version of it in the next few years. The HHS move toward enterprise management of its IT investments is in recognition of these trends.

Who Should Attend
This webinar is designed for all HIPAA-covered entities for which the Federally mandated standards and operating rules apply: Hospitals, providers, health plans, vendors and clearinghouses.
